Can't wait for the now Windows Phone 7 release. Meanwhile here is a preview of whats coming up. They say it should be in stores for the holidays, but which one? Something to put on my Christmas list.
The biggest change is Xbox Live platform. Windows Phone 7 users will be able to interact with people playing games on other phones, PCs, and Xbox consoles.
I suggest you create your windows live account now if you haven't done so already. Also, have it save your credit card information so you don't have to re-enter it each time you buy an application. Windows Marketplace will be using the credit information from your Windows Live account like it does already.
The full Office suite is available on the phone, including One Note; users can add new notes using the keypad, with the phone's camera, or by voice. In addition to syncing documents to an individual PC, the OS also offers connection to Microsoft's SharePoint collaboration tools, either via a corporate server or the Windows Live cloud service. So don't forget to create your account.
As usual Facebook will be easy access, but you'll also find all your other friends from other apps under the same icon. Everyone under the same roof.
They are obviously using Bing as a search engine. Three ways of searching: Local, Web content and News content.
Zune media player is used for videos, audios and broadcast. Get used to using that too.
FM transition and GPS is included.
So we are all excited about the new OS. Except my grand-mother who ask : "what ever happened to dail and talk phone and where can I take a course?"
- JEM l'informatique will teach her how to use her cool new phone!
